Religion

Native religion(s)

For full info on the ancient religions, see Ancient Medici.

Medici has at least one native religion that is still being worshiped (as proven by new flowers at all ancient altars). The more common one of these seems to have worshiped a bull-deity. This religion also includes large statues of women. These statues are never inside a temple and can only appear just outside the temple doors, or on the edges of balconies. One ancient temple has statues that move when approached by the player (listed as part of an easter egg).

The other ancient religion has stone obelisks. Each obelisk (except one, which might have been under construction) has a pentagram and some letters carved into it. They also have small eternal fires on them which even burn under water. It is currently unknown why or how these fires burn under water (possibly as a result of witchcraft performed by the worshippers). Some theories also suggest that these burning obelisks might lead to another easter egg. The obelisks probably belong to a different ancient deity, or even a whole separate religion, as indicated by them never co-existing at the same settlement/ruins as the bull and women statues.

It’s unknown what religion this belief is a part of, but reportedly, «The quaint town of Cirilla is named after Cirillo Salroso, patriarch of the ancient Salirosan people. On the third Sunday of every month, those that still uphold the «Way of Cirillo» meet privately, to share bottles of wine and good food, hoping the spirit of their once-beloved leader will look down upon them and their families favorably.»

Abrahamic

Medici seems to predominantly follow Christianity. While the branch is never specified, it is likely that it is Catholicism, like its other Mediterranean neighbors. For the newer religious buildings, see Churches in Medici.

Strangely, there doesn’t seem to have been any recent activity at any of the newer cemeteries. One of these is near Burgoletto at about N 40 45.650 E 5 38.000. There are a number of graves, each marked with a stone, but the stones themselves are completely unmarked. The only building present is a relatively small square shaped building that has no religious symbols. Its architecture is identical to the newer religious buildings, so it probably belongs to the same religion, but the absence of religious symbols and lack of recent activity would indicate that Medici is a relatively nonreligious country (either following the trend of its European neighbors, or perhaps because the regime restricted religious practices, parallel to real-life dictatorships).

Medici has no lack of churches, however, as they can be found all over the country.

Vehicles

Medici Military

  • Urga Ogar 7 V8.
  • Weimaraner W3.
  • Urga Szturm 63A.
  • CS Navajo — 2 show up as reinforcements.

Other

  • Civilian cars in random parking spaces spawn at the base both before and after the base is liberated. It’s unusual as to why they are here considering this is one of the most important bases to the Medici Military, unless they were personal vehicles for the soldiers.
  • The Rocket — near the gate after the base is liberated.

Увеличить файл подкачки, если не хватает оперативной памяти для Just Cause 3

Чтобы компенсировать недостаток оперативной памяти, можно увеличить файл подкачки. Это позволит системе хранить часть необходимых Just Cause 3 данных прямо на жестком диске. Вот что нужно сделать:

  • Открыть «Проводник»;
  • Правой кнопкой нажать на «Этот компьютер» (или «Мой компьютер»);
  • В контекстном меню кликнуть на «Свойства»;
  • В открывшемся окне слева нажать на «Дополнительные параметры системы»;
  • В открывшемся окне перейти на вкладку «Дополнительно»;
  • В разделе «Быстродействие» нажать на кнопку «Параметры…»;
  • В открывшемся окне перейти на вкладку «Дополнительно»;
  • Снять флажок с параметра «Автоматически выбирать объем файла подкачки» (если есть);
  • Поставить флажок напротив опции «Указать размер»;

Quotes

In vehicles

Just like Rebel soldiers, military soldiers can be overheard speaking in vehicles. Though Rico can’t get into vehicles with them, they will be heard if a roadblock appears and a traffic jam of Military vehicles occurs.

Some of these quotes are also heard from soldiers patrolling outside vehicles.

  • «These so-called Rebels make me laugh! Just a bunch of kids waving guns around. No organisation to speak of. Nothing like the General’s well-oiled machine.«
  • «I’m fine with being stationed here instead of in the mines. If you get bored here, there’s plenty of seagulls to take potshots at.«
  • «I wish Di Ravello would let us wear shorts, although I don’t think anyone would take us seriously in them.«
  • «Hey, hey, you know what my favorite part about being in the Military is? It’s commandeering anything that looks fun — cars, boats, people’s apartments. If I want it, I just wave my gun around and I get it.«
  • «You know, you wear those fatigues pretty well. Mine are always too big.«
  • «Oh, I’m so bored. I haven’t seen any combat at all in the last few weeks. I’ll take anything at this point if it means I get to shoot something.«
  • «One of the other soldiers told me Di Ravello’s in a bad mood today. I was like ‘how is that different from any other day?’. Then I looked over my shoulder, just to make sure he wasn’t standing there.«
  • «I was between joining the Military and getting a college education. I made the right choice — I prefer bullets to books.«
  • «This Rebellion is going to fail. They should just accept that the General is in charge, and that’s how it’s going to stay.«
  • «I heard when they capture a terrorist, the local police commander practices enhanced interrogation techniques.«
  • «You want to know how to stay awake? Imagine the General finding you asleep at your post and what he would do to you.«
  • «Rico Rodriguez better not bring anything funny while I’m around. He won’t know what hit him. Then I’ll get all the promotions. That’ll teach him to bring a grappling hook to a gunfight.«

Radio announcements during heat

Similar to the Panau Military, Rico can overhear the Medici Military radio communications during Heat.

Trivia

  • Gameinformer.com was given exclusive publishing rights for all new info during the first month after the announcement. People from that site reported having gotten to play the game for several hours.
  • A few screenshots that were leaked a few days before the announcement (see below in the gallery) indicated that the new Black Market will use real money and introduce micro-transactions into the game. Christofer Sundberg, Avalanche Studios co-founder, and the chief creative officer has denied this and explained that the game will not have any microtransactions. «To be perfectly clear: Just Cause 3 will be available in 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. It will be distributed as a retail box and digital download. It is not a «Free To Play» game. It does not feature in-game microtransactions.» According to avalanchestudios.com, those screenshots show how they were considering different business models. That model was cancelled.
  • See the locked archive page Just Cause 3 News for all the info that was slowly leaked and published before the announcement. The game was rumored to be under construction for over a year.
  • By the time of the announcement, the game had been worked on for about 3 years (since 2011). We know this because that’s when the earliest known game artworks were drawn and when Roland Lesterlin was hired for «Project Mamba».
  • During development, the codename for the game was «Project Mamba».
  • Members of the development team that created «Burnout» have worked on JC3 to improve vehicle handling.
  • This is one of the first nine games in the world to use Denuvo «anti-tamper technology», which is hoped to eliminate game piracy in the future.
  • Until Just Cause 4’s mixed mission structure exceeding 30 or more, this game had the most storyline missions of any Just Cause game with 22 in total, exceeding Just Cause (1)’s 19 (though technically 21 due to the three parts).
  • Until Mech Land Assault and/or Bavarium Sea Heist, it was possible to go through the entire game without a special weapon. While it certainly makes the game harder without a special weapon, this was still technically possible.
    • Rico wields a UVK-13 with unlimited rocket propelled grenades during Welcome Home, but drops it when Di Ravello’s CS7 Thunderhawks force Rico’s Urga U17 Akrobat to make a sharp turn. Rico falls into the canyon below and eventually reaches a small area with some dead rebels and finds another UVK-13. The weapon is not required to be picked up though, and never during any subsequent part of the game is Rico made to pick up a special weapon.
    • Mech Land Assault requires Rico to pick up two Power Cores during the first mission, but again a special weapon is not required at any other point during the DLC.
    • Bavarium Sea Heist requires Rico to pick up the eDEN Spark in the laboratory, marking only the second time a special weapon is required to be picked up, assuming one does Bavarium Sea Heist after Mech Land Assault.
  • This is the first Just Cause game to have bullpup firearms.

Factions

Medici Police Department

According to pre-release promotional materials, the Medici Police Department was supposed to be in the game as a functional police force, but this was cancelled. The modifying community has found models and script settings for them in the game files.

The police is still mentioned in the collectible Di Ravello tapes.

Mafia

Just like the police, model and script remains still exist in the game files. According to the «The art of Just Cause 3» book that comes with the collectors edition of the game, Looch is one of the mafia characters. The book also has about 10 drawings of different mafia member heads.

These guys were likely armed with the «GuitaRPG» weapon.

Black Hand

Apparently there was another character model called «Elite» that for unknown reasons, didn’t make it into the game. It heavily resembles the in-game «Aegis» character model, of which, it is possible that «Elite» was renamed to «Aegis» and the old Aegis model (second character from left) was scrapped. (See gallery below)

New items

Vehicles

  • C3 Canvasback Hovercraft — A new version of the Agency Hovercraft.
  • A5 Coyote Assault Chopper — The Agency version of the Firebrand Scout Chopper, but can also drop naval mines.
  • Hoverboard for Rico.
  • Several large submarines that surround Solís. These are stationary vehicles and act as enemy bases that must be completed.
    • USS Conquest.
    • USS Watchdog.
    • USS Visionary.
    • USS Whitefeather.
    • USS Codetalker.
    • USS Westward.
    • USS Statesman — Miller’s command ship. This is featured in the mission Rogue Agent and it can be visited afterwards.
    • Unnamed 8th submarine. This is a wreck near USS Visionary, and is said to be a Black Hand wreck.
  • 2 types of drones:
    • Small machine gun drones.
    • Bigger drones that operatives can stand on.

Weapons

  • Stormalong EM Zero — Gravity «gun», with a function similar to a Mech GRIP.
  • Sequoia 370 Mag-Slug — Powerful shotgun that propels enemies away with a secondary fire that shoots boosters.
  • Yellowstone Auto Sniper Rifle — Automatic sniper rifle that can deploy a remotely controlled drone.
  • Niagara 9mm Bullpup — Assault rifle. It can lock on targets if needed.

Enemies

Main article: The Agency.

There are 3 types of Agency operatives. All of them are equipped with grappling hooks, marking the first time in the series with enemies that can grapple around if Just Cause 2 Multiplayer and Just Cause 3 Multiplayer are not included.

  • First are normal agents equipped with the Niagara 9mm Bullpup, Sequoia 370 Mag-Slug, and less commonly the Yellowstone Auto Sniper. These wear tan fatigues.
  • Second are agents wearing green. They seem to have barely more armor than the normal agents. They’re armed with the Niagara 9mm Bullpup, Sequoia 370 Mag-Slug, and rarely Yellowstone Auto Sniper.
  • Third are «ranking agents». There’s only about 10 of them, but they’re quite a bit tougher. Rico even recognizes a few of them as former colleagues. These are all armed with the Sequoia 370 Mag-Slug.

All of them have a grappler that looks the same as the Just Cause 3 grappler, but with only Just Cause 2 grappler functionality. They grapple themselves onto walls and ceilings a lot and can also grapple onto drones at will.

Description

According to Game Director Roland Lesterlin, Bavarium has «very explosive» and «weirdly magnetic» properties. He has also stated that «It’s the next level of uranium, if you will». It is also known to be very light (similar to coal), since an Urga Szturm 63A is able to tow a pile of it larger in volume than the car itself, as seen during . Also as revealed in those missions the «low grade» bavarium rocks are green and «high grade» ones are blue.

Bavarium is a very explosive mineral. It’s more powerful than most conventional explosives. When Bavarium explodes, it creates a relatively large explosion that has streaks of electrical energy in it. Typically, Bavarium-based weapons are powerful enough to create a pretty big explosion and destroy most destructible objects.

The mineral is completely unique to the islands of Medici. It is mined at several of its quarries, principally within provinces such as Rocca Blau.

As revealed during the mission Conflicting Interests, this mineral has to be refined. The mission Three’s Company features a bavarium refinery and some (if not all) mines and at least one base/outpost have destructible refining machinery.

According to the map description for Guardia Grande Pastura I, only 80% of bavarium comes from the mines of Insula Striate. The rest is said to come from small outposts like Guardia Grande Pastura I. How the small military outposts are able to produce that much mining product is unknown.

Vehicles

According to the in-game map info for Porto Le Gratia, Medici uses that port to import tanks and artillery.

Helicopters:

  • CS Comet — Unarmed transport helicopter.
  • CS Navajo — Heavy attack helicopter. It is equipped with 2 types of missiles, light ones and heavy ones, the latter being the most powerful non-Bavarium missiles. It has weak armor though.
  • Urga Hrom D — Large attack helicopter. It is equipped with dual miniguns and missiles.
  • Urga Mstitel — Modern attack helicopter with a Bavarium shield, allowing it to become immune for a few seconds before the shield needs recharging. The Mstitel also has vast amounts of armor, able to survive multiple hits from the Navajo’s heavy missiles.
  • Urga Postolka — Small attack helicopter with a minigun on either side.
  • Urga Racek — Small unarmed helicopter able to land on water without sinking. Its purpose is likely reconnaissance, even though they are the slowest helicopter in the game.

Planes:

  • CS7 Thunderhawk — Delta-wing fighter plane equipped with homing missiles and a frontal machine gun.
  • U-7 Dravec — Larger two-engine fighter plane, equipped with bombs and unguided missiles.
  • U41 Ptakojester — Large cargo plane that can carry up to 10 land vehicles.

Ground vehicles:

  • CS Baltdjur — 6-wheeled armored personnel carrier with a roof mounted machine gun. The roof mounted machine gun can not be used from the driving position.
  • CS Odjur — 8-wheeled armored vehicle resembling the Ballard M5B1 Scout. Armed with a cannon and coaxial machine gun, both are operated by the driver. This is the main battle tank of the Medici Military.
  • Imperator Bavarium Tank — 8-wheeled armored vehicle with a Bavarium shield. It could be an improved version of the above vehicle. Same armament as above. This is the most powerful land vehicle in the Medici Military arsenal.
  • Monorail train — A train seen on the railroads in Insula Striate. It is commonly seen carrying CS7 Thunderhawks and various types of ground vehicles. It has a special missile defense system, where it shoots around 7 missiles in a single salvo when enemies get near it.
  • Pavouk U-15 — Off-road motorcycle.
  • Urga Bkolos 2100 — 4-wheeled military armored vehicle, similar to the Harland DTWV-2 Scout and GV-104 Razorback, but more realistic looking. Armament is a fast firing light cannon.
  • Urga Ogar 7 V8 — Buggy.
  • Weaponized Urga Ogar — Weaponized version of the above, armed with machine guns. Only appears on Boom Island.
  • Urga Fura 570 — Six-wheeled MRAP used for personnel transport.
  • Urga Szturm 63A — An MV with a Mounted Gun in a small turret.
  • Stria Obrero — A four-wheeler cargo truck, this truck is used for supply and cargo transport, and also is the main vehicle used to transport Bavarium.
  • Weimaraner W3 — SUV.
  • It is also possible that the military are authorized to use any vehicle, as there was a report of a soldier using a Stria Joia. The D.R.M. has also been seen to at times commandeer any nearest vehicles, so this is likely how the game is meant to work.

Ships:

  • A cruiser, or destroyer, which resembles the Kirov-class battlecruiser. This has only been seen in a promotional artwork.
  • CS Powerrun 77 — Patrol boat resembling Pequod — Harpoon PC 350, but longer. Armed with two machine guns, one on each side.
  • Custode 29 — Small military boat with machine gun at its front, similar to the YP-107 Phoenix.
  • Military Corvette — Military ship with a single gun turret at the front, similar to the Triton Broadsider.
  • Urga Hroch — WW2 — looking landing craft that can transport various types of helicopters or ground vehicles across water.

Just Farm / Farming Simulator 15

This is a Just Cause 3-themed DLC for the game Farming Simulator 15.

The following announcement info is a quote from the official JC site and the Farming Simulator site, where it was posted on April 1, 2016:

«Fresh from his latest assignment to rid his beloved homeland Medici of a vile dictatorship, our hero Rico Rodriguez is taking a break from destruction to try his hand at tending the soil of Farming Simulator 15 in a FREE DLC UPDATE.
Coming this summer, Just Cause 3’s iconic STRIA RUSTICO tractor will debut in Farming Simulator 15. Repurposed by Rico to aid the rebels in their revolution, Just Cause 3 showed that there was nothing that the Rustico couldn’t do, now it’s time to see what its trademark havoc causing can bring to the world of harvesting.
The Rustico being the latest in a long line of fantasy inspired agricultural rides that Rico could borrow in the Just Cause series. Known as the “Medician workhorse” the Stria Rustico could be seen throughout Medici working the fields and was pride of place at many farmsteads in the glistening Mediterranean paradise.
Long praised by Medici’s for its reliability and unprecedented haulage, the Rustico will be adorned in its sun weathered coat of paint from Just Cause 3, but that is not all… As the Rustico comes to you straight from Medici, this version will be equipped with nitrous boosters as per Rico’s specification adding an extra layer of danger and excitement to your ploughing– it’s pretty difficult to pull off contour farming whilst being propelled uncontrollably at speeds of 80mph or more.
Using the Rustico will also change your farmer’s appearance to that of Medici’s favourite son Rico Rodriguez, hero of the Just Cause games complete with his famous grappling hook and wingsuit (hopefully your tractor doesn’t get airborne, but then with Rico anything is possible).
The Just Cause 3 DLC for Farming Simulator 15 including the Rustico and Rico farmer skin will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One this summer.«

By 2021 the above links linking to the announcements both redirect back to the game’s home pages (Just Cause and Farming Simulator respectively).

Description

This is the headquarters for the military in Insula Fonte.

This place is the headquarters of all the military troops stationed throughout the Insula Fonte region, and as such it can be assumed that from here, all military operations carried out on the island are coordinated from here. The deployment of troops throughout the island is also organized to maintain the military presence for all the locations and the dispatch of reinforcements to all units when they need it anywhere.

At the entrance, there is a large gate/door, similar to what are in police stations. A bit before the entrance on the road up to the compound, there is a metal guard tower. It has a large tower, which is similar in appearance to a flak tower or an air traffic control tower. There are buildings surrounding the tower, which is in the middle of the base.

It has a FOW guarding it that is replicated by the handheld Dionysus PLDS-H. The FOW is an airstrike delivered by a CS7 Thunderhawk.

The in-game map description says «Built on the ruins of an ancient Salirosan fortress, Cima Leon’s CentCom Tower is the bastion from which Di Ravello’s regional commanders keep Insula Fonte under strict control.»
