Trivia[edit]

(Spring and Autumn Overlord) by Chinese fans, for their victories of spring and fall Majors. “Spring and Autumn Period ” means the period of 770 BC to 476 BC in Chinese history.
(Winter and Summer Elimination), for their failures during winter Majors and the summer TI. “Winterworm” and «summerherb» both mean medicinal herbs in Chinese, but their literal meanings sound very weak.
  • They have won the inaugural Dota 2 Frankfurt Major and Manila Major, becoming the first team to repeat as champions of a Valve-sponsored Dota 2 tournament. OG’s winning streak extends to also winning the Boston Major and Kiev Major as well, giving them their third and fourth Dota 2 Major championships in a row.
  • They are the only organization to have won The International from an open qualifier.[]
  • They are the only organization to have won The International twice, and the first organization to win The International two years in a row.
  • OG lead Liquipedia’s .[]
  • They hold the record for most Valve-sponsored tournaments won (totaling 7).[]

Dota 2[edit]

Over time, w33 grew into a well-known pubstar. He obtained the highest MMR of any player for a significant amount of time, even becoming the first player to breach 8000 MMR. His first team was Balkan Bears, a team that he built with friends and other high-level players. Although the team failed to achieve good tournament results, w33 was able to showcase his exceptional ability at playing solo mid, going toe to toe with some of the top-tier mids. w33 became particularly known for his ability to play Meepo, who was considered a niche and unconventional pick.

After Balkan Bears disbanded, w33 was invited to join the team MeePwn’d alongside veteran players such as H4nn1 and pieliedie. However, the team did not manage to produce any significant results and disbanded two months after formation. However, w33 did not remain teamless for long, as he quickly returned to Balkan Bears. Two months later, w33 was offered to join 4 Clover & Lepricon with veterans such as Pajkatt and EGM. This time w33’s team managed to produce some results, winning minor tournaments such as GIGABYTE Challenge #15 and MSI Dragon Battle 6. Three months later, w33 was invited by Puppey to be a part of a rebuilt Team Secret alongside EternaLEnVy, MiSeRy and pieliedie.

During his time at Team Secret, w33 had large amounts of success. Much of this success came from w33’s solo mid play on Windranger, Invoker, and Meepo. Team Secret won multiple premier-level LAN events such as the MLG World Finals and the Nanyang Dota 2 Championships. Although they were among the best teams in the world in terms of tournament performance at the time, they were upset in the first Dota 2 Major, the Frankfurt Major by OG, ending up in second place. After the major, Team Secret looked shaky but nevertheless continued onto the next major with the same roster, the Shanghai Major, which they won handily. Despite w33’s solid solo mid performances during his time on the team, he was removed from the team in the post-Shanghai Major reshuffle.

With not much time remaining before the next major’s roster lock, w33 was considered to be among the better free agents in the reshuffle. Alongside former Team Secret teammate MiSeRy, w33 was invited to join the American team Digital Chaos, who were rebuilding their team around the Ukrainian mid player Resolut1on. Despite early exits from previous competitions prior to the The International 2016, w33 believed that coming into the tournament they were the underdogs. He believed that as underdogs, the pressure and expectation would be less and he would perform better. After an eventful series, he finished runners-up in the tournament, losing to Wings Gaming 3-1 in the grand finals.

Following the International, w33 and his team sustained mixed success into the new year; victorious in ESL One Genting 2017 but several underperformances during the competitive season led to the departure of the team, and reformation to Thunderbirds. The reformation was short-lived and w33 spent a year playing for various European teams, later flying to Brazil to play for PaiN Gaming in April 2018.

Format[edit]

Regional Leagueedit

Each of the six regions will feature a Regional League, divided into an upper and a lower division of eight teams each. Each league lasts for six weeks and throughout the year. At the end of each league, the bottom two teams of the upper division are relegated to the lower division, while the top two teams of the lower division are promoted to the upper division. The bottom two teams of the lower division are relegated from the league and replaced winners of the open qualifier. All other teams retain their position for the following season.

Valve will not be using previous season’s DPC points as a way to seed teams into the leagues but rather selecting the top 4 teams in best form from each region to be directly qualified to the Upper division, with remaining spots to be filled by closed and open qualifier. Only teams with at least three players residing in the region are eligible to play in that region’s league.

The six regional leagues will be operated by the following tournament organizers:

Region Organizer
Europe DreamHack
CIS ESL
China Perfect World
SEA PGL
NA BTS
SA OGA

Both upper and lower divisions receive prize money: a total of $280,000 USD can be earned by every league each season. The top five teams of the upper division can also earn DPC points from a total of 1150 points. The prize pool and DPC points are spread as follows:

Dota 2

DotA (Defence of the Ancients), Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.

Dota+
Battle Pass

Biography[edit]

Having been in the competitive Dota scene almost since it started, NS is one of the most famous support players of all time. Playing with Virtus.pro when they dominated the scene during 2007, with a lineup consisting of NS, Vigoss, ARS-ART, JoliE and LighTofHeaveN. The team won three consecutive MYM PriDe tournaments and reached the finals of several ASUS Open Cups.

Due to internal problems as well as lack of sponsorship, NS left VP in 2008 to join «Rush3d». In this team he would be joined by former VP teammates ARS-ART, Vigoss and LighTofHeaveN as well as PGG, DeMoN and QWERTY. Together they won three consecutive ASUS Open tournaments. During Spring 2009 the team switched sponsor to the Chinese organization «Platium Sports» and went to China to practice.

NS had a notable stay on DTS, together with ARS-ART, LighT, Dread and God. They finished second at ESWC 2010 and won MYM PriDe #12 as well as some other notable tournaments. DTS dropped their Dota team in March 2011, leaving the squad teamless under the name «Garaj». Not long after, they found a new sponsor in Moscow Five and named «M5.Garaj» the squad won the OSPL Spring finals.

The International 10
