Black Widow

Black Widows can spawn in three different sizes: Small, Medium and Large. These spiders spawn in the Ulterior Outback and the Nether; making them the only Erebus mob known to spawn outside of the eponymous dimension.

Black Widows, if not correctly avoided or slain with ranged weaponry, are extremely dangerous; not due to their outright damage (which is comparably pitiful) but due to their attacks inflicting 6 seconds of Wither upon the player.

Furthermore, the true danger is their ensnaring tactics; if a player is at too great a distance for the Black Widow to melee, it will fire three-shot volleys of Wither Webs in the direction of the player. These webs act like normal Webs, with the addition of inflicting 6 seconds of Wither on contact and every second you remain in contact. This effect does not stack, but simply resets the Wither effect.

Black Widows will attempt to leap at and kill Flies and if observed from a distance. They are immune to fire and lava.

Titan Beetle

This beetle can only be found in Elysian Fields. It is powerful and quick, but lacks the knockback ability of the Rhinoceros Beetle, making it far easier to tame or defeat. 

The Titan Beetle can be tamed using the , which isn’t quite as difficult as it sounds. It gains 20 health after being tamed by right-clicking on it with the Beetle Amulet. It must be saddled using the Beetle Riding Kit before you can ride it.

It is significantly slower than the Rhinoceros Beetle, but you can equip it with a Chest or an Ender Chest (right-click it while holding the chest in your hand). You can access this storage space by shift-right clicking it, while not riding it.

They must be tame to breed, and any larvae produced will spawn with two antennae on their head. All large beetle species’ larvae grow at the same rate as small beetles.

You can heal it by feeding it .

Fire Ant

Particularly nasty but very easy to spot, Fire Ants and their variant-Fire Ant Soldiers-spawn solely in Volcanic Deserts. The standard variety inflicts regular melee damage and can fire igniting Fireballs from a distance, inflicting 2.5 hearts of damage and lighting the player on fire.

Fire Ant Soldier

Brutish in stature when compared to the meek Fire Ant, the Soldier variant has a rare chance to spawn instead of a standard Fire Ant. They inflict double the melee damage and ignite the player when they connect, but their Fireballs do not ignite the player (unless the player gets caught in a Firesource ignited by one!). Killing one results in Blaze Powder and Blaze Rods, rather than Magma Cream.

Black Ants

Black Ants are the variety of ants used for farming. They can be found in Fungal Forests , and can be tamed by right-clicking them with an Ant Medallion. They are not aggressive even when attacked.

Black Ant Usage

Black Ants are helpful little bugs who will work with the Silo to complete various farming tasks that you assign to them. Create your Silo first (See the Silo page for crafting recipe and setup). and then use an to direct them to the Silo. Right-click your Silo with the medallion, then right-click an ant-wild or tame-to assign it (this will tame wild Black Ants). Congratulations! You now have a pet

The Black Ants use the Silo as an inventory to plant and maintain crops like Wheat. To assign an ant a task, right-click on the ant with an empty hand. You will see a menu with three slots.

If you wish for the ant to till Grass/Dirt and plant Seeds of any variety, place any hoe in the left slot, and place the variety of Seeds in the centre slot. Do note that there will need to be a stockpile of the same kind of Seeds in the Silo for the ant to complete this task. This ant is known as a Planter.

If you wish for the ant to speed up growth, place a Bone in the ant’s left slot, and Bone Meal in the centre slot. Ensure that there is sufficient Bone Meal in the ant’s Silo and it will get to work. This ant is known-somewhat unimaginatively-as a Bone Mealer.

If you wish for an ant to harvest nearby crops that have fully grown, simply give it a set of Shears in the left slot. It will not need anything from the Silo, however you will need a Collector Ant (see below paragraph) to collect the dropped crops. This ant is known as a Harvester. (Note: There is an occasional bug-no pun intended-where Harvesters will stop harvesting readied crops. Remove the Shears from the ant and replace them in the left slot; this will fix the ant’s AI.)

If you wish for an ant to collect dropped crops or Seeds, place a Bucket ( will not work) in the left slot, and the variety of crop/Seeds you wish for the ant to retrieve in the centre slot. The ant will then collect any drops of the designated variety in range and place them into the Silo. This ant is known as a Collector.

Many have been curious as to the right slot’s purpose; it is the Black Ant’s personal inventory, capable of holding a single stack of materials. Do note that the presence of Black Ants is not a substitute for water; crops will still require a water supply.

What are templates?

The Different Altars

There are currently 4 different Altars, but expect more to be added later on. They all have special abilities that are very useful. Altars will, however, lose their effect. Some are bound to time (such as the Altar of Healing), but the Altar of Repair reverts back to a normal Altar after one repair. Remember; you need a Wand of Animation to properly use an Altar.

Altar of Healing

The Altar of Healing heals all players within a 4 block radius completely, making it a possible lifesaver and turning your home into a true safe haven.

Right click the Altar with Bioluminescence to get this effect.

Altar of Lightning

The Altar of Lightning shoots lightning at arthropods, making it useful for mob farms and protecting your home.

Right clicking a Redgem on the Altar will give the Altar this ability.

Altar of Repair

Repairs your tools and armor fully, even the enchanted ones

Right click Elastic Fibre on the Altar.

In order to use this Altar properly, stand right next to the Altar, as close to its center as you can get, then throw the item to repair onto the magical anvil on top. Step back, allow the Altar of Repair to work for around five seconds, then you’ll hear a hammering noise and observe the Altar revert. Your item can now be collected and is fully repaired. This system also works on Wands of Animation, making the process effectively infinite, depending on how much Elastic Fibre you wish to grab.

Personality

Erebus is always seen to be serene and apathetic towards other people, even while actually deeply conflicted. He is notably calm, even in battle. He generally acts different, bordering on coldness, to most situations he is faced with, and rarely views his opponent as being worth his time.

He doesn’t show these emotions very often and it’s said that he often sports a poker face. He denies this and believes that he just expresses his emotions in his own way. His sister state that he gets a lot of love letters from female entities. He is good at making friends and socializing, and he is one of the few people who can control Tartarus when he gets out of hand.

He can be seen to be immensely friendly towards his siblings and father, however, his coldness can make him rather cruel and quiet hostile from outsiders, specially if some space monsters or an Old One accidentally find themselves in his presence.

Due to fighting many entities, Erebus is an extremely cunning, wise, witty, and a cautious person, having not trusted the words of an Old One like Yog-Sothoth. He is wise and smart enough to convince Nyarlathotep to think that the outer god had successfully manipulated him, and just playing along from his games.

Beetle Amulets are the first of the three Artifacts of Taming. They are crafted using Gold Nuggets, Jade and Altar Fragments , as seen below. These amulets, unlike the other two Artifacts of Taming, are single-use-only, and as such can tame one large Beetle .

A tamed large Beetle can be saddled with a and ridden around. Each species has its own benefits; see Beetle for more information.

In order to tame a Beetle , just right-click on it with a Beetle Amulet. It only takes one to tame them; Beetle Amulets are infallible. Small Beetles from anywhere and Beetle Larvae bred by you are automatically tame.

Overview

His wife, Nyx, was also his sister. His two children whom are well known through Greek myth include Hemera, the Protogenos of Day, and Aether, Protogenos of Light, an ironic fact that the day and light would be the children of night and darkness.

While he is featured little in Greek mythology, he is known to have fathered several other deities with Nyx; depending on the source of the mythology, this union includes Aether, Hemera, the Hesperides, Hypnos, the the Sisters of Fate, Geras, Styx, Charon, and Thanatos. In Greek literature, Erebus is also used of a region of the Greek underworld where the dead pass immediately after dying, and is sometimes used interchangeably with Tartarus.

Beetle

This peaceful creature does not attack the player or cause any other harm. It comes in five different colours: Red, Brown, Blue, Green and Tan, and also has a rare Ladybug variety, which does nothing but look good.

It can be found in Underground Jungles, Subterranean Savannahs and Elysian Fields.

It can be bred using Turnips (this applies to the other Beetles in this article as well), which produces regular Beetle Larva. They can be healed with Bamboo.

Trivia

• They can spawn with the names of one of the Beatles.
• It was one of the first mobs to appear in the Erebus, all the way back in the 0.0.x branch.
• The model was made by james26aus, and edited by Dave (Vadis365) to give it better legs.
• As of 0.1.2, these little guys now have sounds, and can be bred.
• There is a secret form of small Beetle that attacks on sight… They only inflict half a heart, but spawn in threes… Try placing a Bed in the Erebus, and you’ll find that bed bugs are a lot worse than you thought…

Mossbark

Mossbark trees are the second-and final-tree found exclusively in Underground Jungles. Almost always growing 12 blocks tall, Mossbarks don’t have a defined trunk leading the entire way up to the leaf canopy; in fact, Mossbark trees split into four giant branches about halfway up their height.

Their leaves are a very deep green, and the trees provide Spruce-ish coloured logs with dark brown bark interspersed with-you guessed it-moss (but not Moss; the moss of a Mossbark is part of the texture and purely decorational). As the logs look very much like Spruce in terms of wood colour, Mossbark planks are also very Spruce-ish, but feature flecks of green throughout to symbolize the presence of moss deeper in the wood of the tree.

The Offering Altar

This altar is set apart from the rest, due to its wildly different purpose. You will only likely need it twice; to create two for two Staffs of Gaea, one to get to the Erebus and one to get back.

It is crafted using Smooth Stone, Obsidian, Gold and Stone Bricks, as seen below. The corners can be any variant of Smooth Stone, including Umberstone, but the three cardinal directions (East, South and West) must be Stone Bricks.

To place the necessary Emerald, Diamond and Obsidian on the Offering Altar, right-click it with the item held. Once the is created, you’ll have to shift+right click the altar in order to retrieve the . Alternatively, you can break the altar with a pickaxe, which will drop both the altar and the gem.

Он был уже практически готов: по сравнению с оцененной сейчас версией отличия были только в отдельных элементах фона и в ширине некоторых проходов.

На момент выхода превью предстоящий демон не получил особой популярности и на первых порах был малоизвестен. Некоторые игроки видели Erebus благодаря контесту от одного из ютуберов по Geometry Dash в 2.0 — Sea1997. Также уровень попал в топ сложнейших в игре, включая невышедшие и неоценённые — такой ролик выложил на свой канал игрок Cornexium.

За проверку уровня взялся слеер BoldStep — к слову, именно верификация Erebus и принесла ему признание в сообществе. 20 марта 2017 игрок сумел пройти его, потратив 44 тысяч попыток. На аккаунте BoldStep’а новый демон и появился в сети, быстро получив звёзды и Featured.

Когда этот экстремальный демон был оценён, он встал на высокую позицию в топе тяжелейших уровней в игре, попав на 3 место. Несколько месяцев никто из даже самых опытных игроков не решался всерьёз взяться за прохождение Erebus из-за его нестандартного по тогдашним меркам и чересчур неприятного для них геймплея. Только в июле 2017 данный демон сумел пройти второй слеер — rWooshi.

После того, как число прошедших Erebus увеличилось, редакторы pointercrate переместили его сначала на вторую строку топа самых сложных демонов, поменяв с Yatagarasu, а затем и на верхнюю, когда решили, что он сложнее Sonic Wave. Споры о позиции этих трёх уровней в топе не утихали на протяжении года. В конце концов большинство пришло к выводу, что Erebus совсем немного, но всё-таки легче и Sonic Wave, и Yatagarasu. В 2017–2018 годах эти споры породили желание многих игроков попробовать эти уровни, и Erebus начали активно тренировать в том числе в русскоязычном сообществе, где первым его прохождение выложил Ishigiru.

Bombardier Beetles

*DUN DUN DUNNNNN* These beetles are likely one of the most dangerous-if not THE most dangerous-mob outside of Boss Mobs in the entire Erebus. They may even be more dangerous than Boss Mobs.

Found solely in Underground Jungles, these brutes are a bright blue with orange underbelly, legs and heads. Surely such a pretty creature couldn’t be that bad, right? Right?

Wrong. Bombardier Beetles do just as their name suggests; bombard. They have an explosive melee attack that-as shown in their Mob Box higher up the page-deals 17 damage (eight and a half hearts!) to unarmoured players and mobs, and is capable of breaking blocks with low blast resistance. Gliders are useful to reduce the falling damage, but be sure to fall on a tree to avoid a second and surely deadly attack of the beetle.

Unfortunately, if you’re insane enough to try taming these monstrosities, you’ll fail every time; they are not currently tameable. If you see one, run.

As for healing one, why would you want to?!

Zombie Ant

Found alongside Black Ants in Fungal Forests, these poor victims of Cordycep fungi are enslaved by the parasitic mushrooms, and as such have grown far larger than their sibling Black Ants. They emit what could be called spore particles when moving. Encountering one usually entails being attacked by three more dropping down from surrounding giant mushrooms.

They drop Zombie Ant Plate, which can be crafted in a 2×2 square to create a piece of Rotten Flesh. This seems pitiful, but the Composter can use Rotten Flesh, as can Villager Priests.

Zombie Ant Soldier

This variant is significantly larger than the standard Zombie Ant and inflicts double the damage (a whopping 1 heart per hit!). They possess somewhat close to double the health of a standard Zombie Ant, but are otherwise no more dangerous than the standard variant. Soldiers can rarely spawn in place of standard Zombie Ants.

Baobab

Baobabs are a fairly strange tree found solely in Subterranean Savannahs. They always spawn with four major branches on top, and grow around 16 blocks high. What makes them so unusual is their thickness; they sport a nine block thick trunk for one third, then it narrows to seven blocks, then one third from the top it narrows to a final five blocks. This makes them the thickest tree in the entire Erebus.

Baobabs are also capable of spawning in Giant variants, within which reside swarms of and a Tarantula Brood Mother. These trees spawn with eight major branches instead of four and feature four massive underground roots made of Baobab logs.

In regards to blocks, Baobabs provide greenish logs with pink bark that breaks down into greenish planks, as well as mild green leaves. There is speculation that they may provide fruit in the future.

Tutorial: Travelling to the Erebus

Activated Erebus Portal with Gaean Keystone and Staff of Gaea.

Materials Required: x12 stone bricks, x4 leaves (any tree)

Setup: Build a frame for the Erebus portal vertically with the stone bricks, similar to the basic nether portal structure. (Note: The minimum size for an Erebus portal is with a 2×2 space in the center, however the example here is built the same size as a nether portal and requires x14 stone bricks and x6 leaves). Once your stone bricks are placed, place the leaves inside the frame.

Next, build a Gaean Keystone and place it 7 blocks from your portal (6 blocks between the portal and the keystone). Build two (TWO! this is very important otherwise you will be unable to return to the Overworld easily!) Staffs of Gaea. Right click the keystone with the staff to activate the portal. Step inside and you’ll be in Erebus!

Returning: To return to the Overworld, place the second staff in the Gaean Keystone located just outside the portal in Erebus.

Уровень выполнен в ярко-зелёных тонах с использованием также чёрных и желтовато-болотных оттенков на разных частях. Многие называют данную цветовую гамму «токсичной», что подтверждается сделанным в таком стиле фоном. Блокдизайн у Erebus достаточно проработанный, Rustam использовал самые разнообразные виды блоков и детализации на его протяжении. Уровень можно разделить на два отрезка по стилистике декораций: до 40% можно наблюдать скорее ядовитый светло-зелёный дизайн с элементами, позволяющими назвать эту часть схожей по атмосфере с «токсичными фабриками», тогда как после 40% цвет декора становится ярко-зелёным, более тёмным и без желтоватого оттенка, меняются и сами детали.

Что касается геймплея, то он в данном демоне крайне неоднозначен. С одной стороны стоит отметить то, что он довольно оригинален для рубежа 2016 и 2017 годов, отличается разнообразием форм и препятствий, в целом высокой для того времени плотностью элементов геймплея. С другой — в плане играбельности далеко не все моменты проработаны, присутствует немало мест с крайне проблемно тренируемыми трудностями — так называемые inconsistent-части — в первую очередь таковой является дуал на 55–60%, а также неравномерное распределение сложности внутри некоторых этапов. Jumping Spider

Jumping Spiders like to do one thing and one thing only; jump. They can be found in Underground Jungles, Submerged Swamps and-through Jumping Spider Stumps-Fungal Forests, leaping from seemingly hidden spots to hit you mid-jump and inflict 6 seconds of Poison.

Whilst they only deal half a heart of damage, they often spawn in groups, and can easily overwhelm an unprepared or inexperienced player, since each bite re-inficts Poison for 6 seconds, essentially keeping the player perma-poisoned. The Poison effect does not stack; it is simply reset.

They only drop Poison Glands. Several colours of Jumping Spider exist.
